Memorial Day Weekend Fun

We hope that everyone had a wonderful, extended Memorial Day Weekend. We had a great time hanging out with family at Nana and Papaw's over the weekend. Nadia experimented with baseball, skateboarding and climbing trees with her second cousins. There are many more photos in our photo albums so please enjoy!

A Family Outing

It's official, Nadia will be starting preschool (Mom's Day Out) on August 26 this fall. She will go one day a week for 3 hours until May. While her class is really just organized play, we feel that Nadia will benefit from it by spending 3 hours without Mom/family and learning to socialize with children with very different personalities (she's already getting some of this with her playgroup but Mom is still there). Jose had yesterday off so we visited the school (our Church) and met with her teacher. Nadia really liked Patty and even gave her a big hug before we left. Afterwards, we decided to take Nadia to the Indianapolis Children's Museum. All the photos above were taken at the museum and you can see our photo albums for more. Anyway, the museum had a couple of nice features including the Curious George and Comic Book exhibit.

Sonia or Nadia?

Order of photos: 1. Sonia 2. Nadia 3. Nadia 4. Sonia. Despite the obvious differences, color of eyes and the amount of hair, Sonia and Nadia still show a strong resemblance to each other. Nadia at 2 months was 23 inches in height and 10 pounds in weight whereas Sonia is 23 1/4 inches and 11 pounds 5 ounces. I should explain the last photo of Sonia. Nadia apparently wanted Sonia to play ball and stuck those there while she was sleeping, I often find baby dolls and all kinds of toys lying with Sonia whenever I turn my back. Fortunately, Sonia never seems to mind.

May the Schwartz be with you!

Left to right-Nadia, Ethan, Aunt Peggy, and Jack

Yesterday we had a play date with Nadia's second cousins out at my Aunt and Uncle's home. My Mom met up with us after work. It was a gloomy, cold and rainy day so it was nice that the kids were able to entertain themselves for the afternoon. We had pizza and cookies while Sonia slept the entire day away.

2 Month Well Vsit

The results are in...23 1/4 inches & 11 lbs, 5 oz. Sonia visited the pediatrician on Monday, which included her first set of shots. She took the shots well with very little crying afterwards and fortunately there wasn't a reaction, not even a fever.

The Hand

Sonia is very enthralled with her hands these days. She will make a fist, rotate and study it-it's more interesting than any of her bright colored toys. In this particular photo Sonia had been examining her hand for some time when sleepiness got the best of her. Anyway, Sonia has turned out to be quite the little talker/babbler just like her big sister. She coos at anyone who will look her way and when she's expecting someone to pay attention to her, it's adorable and just within the last couple of days the smiles just keep coming.

On Friday Carson and Nadia climbed up on the fireplace ledge to eat their Kix and Camden joined in so I grabbed the camera for a recent photo of the three of them together. Later, I noticed that the photo above is hanging in our hallway and the three of them are lined up exactly the way they sat on the fireplace. I can't believe how much they've grown in just 7 months!

Over the Weekend...

We had a couple of visitors this past weekend. Uncle Ebon came to visit Sonia for the first time but we'll have to wait until she's just a little older to capture a photo of the two (Ebon's not quite comfortable holding babies so small). Anyway, I was able to snap a cute one of Ebon and Nadia enoying a ice pop. Our next visitor drove all the way down from Michigan with the "Beast". We had a nice time hanging out and Nadia enjoyed the park with her Titi (that's all she says, she doesn't quite have the Gigi part yet). Beasley seemed to enjoy the visit but clearly was ready to go home with Geraldine as she stayed by her side the entire visit.

For those of you who haven't heard, Eli is back! I'm still babysitting twice a week and Nadia seems to enjoy the company. Yesterday we decided that going for a stroller ride would be fun. Where is Sonia?, you ask. She was hanging from me in the Bjorn. We're guessing I was pushing/carrying 50+ pounds of kid weight. I'm hoping to lose the remainder of my baby weight with this extremely exhausting exercise.
