Sea World

Oma and Abuelo took us to Sea World earlier this week. It was one of the highlights of our trip, and infinitely more fun than when I visited as a disinterested 13 year old. The girls had a great time as did all of the adults. It was about a 12 hour day, but well worth it. Thanks!
Tatum's new nickname... white-knuckle T.

Shamu was impressive, but we enjoyed the dolphin show more.

An Early Visit from Santa

We celebrated an early Christmas this weekend in Indiana since we are off to Florida for the rest of the year. Christmas 2.0 will be held on the actual day. We'll post some pics of those later.
Nadia made sure to leave plenty of "reindeer food" in the grass for
Rudolph and the rest of the sleigh gang, except for Blitzen...definitely no food for Blitzen. The girls watched "Santa Claus is coming to town" for the umpteenth time...

There was lots of excitement in the air, even though it was the air was only 1 deg. Merry Christmas everybody!

It's Cookie Time!

Camden, Carson, Cooper and Amy came over this morning to help us decorate some Christmas cookies. As you can see, everyone was pretty excited about this project. We've been telling Nadia that she needs to put cookies out for Santa and we even made up a batch of reindeer food to put out on the porch on Christmas Eve...can't wait!

The Polar Express

This weekend Nana and Papaw took all of us to ride the Polar Express. Both Nadia and Sonia enjoyed listening to the story and riding the train from Fishers to "the North Pole". As you can see below, The highlight of our trip was most definitely Sonia's reaction to the polar bear. Where's Santa, you might ask? For that, you'll have to wait for the official 2008 Perez Family Christmas card to come out.

Jolly Days

Our friends Missy and Bella invited us for a day at the museum where Nadia (the lobster) and Bella (the octopus) swam under the sea. We also had a lot of fun at the "Jolly Days Winter Wonderland" display where the girls went ice fishing, baked pretend Christmas cookies and visited with Santa. What a day! Sonia was able to keep up until the very end.

Jolly Ol' St. Nick

As you can see, Nadia was pretty excited while we were waiting in line to see Santa this week. This was quite the departure from last year when she cried the whole time she was sitting on his lap. Luckily for us Sonia decided that she would be deathly afraid of the big guy this time. Perhaps next year they'll both enjoy it.

9 Month Well Visit

Sonia went to the dr this morning for her 9 month checkup. Here is the tale of the tape:

Height: 28 1/4"

Weight: 18lbs 4oz

Reach: too long, considering she grabs anything and everything we don't want her to.

Visit to Cincy

We braved the elements in the Element and crossed state lines to see the Carson's this weekend in Cincinnati. Nadia and Will immediately hit it off and chased each other through the house all night. Morgan and Sonia didn't quite play together as much, but they did find some time to hang out by the coffee table.
It was certainly nice to catch up with Patty and Mitch and let the kids play, something that we do not get to do often with them.

Gingerbread Village

Jose had Tuesday off from work so we took the girls to Conner Prairie to view the Gingerbread Village and to play at the Discovery Station. We were pretty impressed by the gingerbread house to the left but there were many others that were very creative. If you live in the area and enjoy this sort of thing, it's worth visiting.

Spider-Man & The Green Goblin

Imagination...how fun it is!
Nadia took my headband and decided that she was Spider-Man.
I posted the photo above of Sonia because she could easily be the villain with that expression on her face.

What a week...

Brea and Pete were in town all the way from Seattle, Jose was off from work the entire week (Nana and Papaw took some time off too) and little Cooper finally arrived. I think the girls and I are going to feel a little alone and sad tomorrow after having so much company around. We managed to cram as much as we could into one week...good quality time with my sister (who I miss) and Pete, the Children's Museum, an early Thanksgiving with my Dad's side of the family, and a trip to the hospital to see the adorable Cooper Ashton Prather.
