A New Chapter

This photo is just hilarious. Nadia seemed to be flirting with Jose's cousin, Marcel, but he was clearly uninterested.

While in MI, we visited with Uncle Jose, Aunt Julie and cousins: Ashley, Lauren, and Marcel. We had a wonderful dinner and dessert followed by a great game called Fact or Crap.

After 4 hours of driving to Michigan and quite a few tears, we finally dropped Beasley off at Geraldine's apartment. We're very sad over here but happy for both Beasley and Geraldine. Overall, our trip went very well (both Nadia and Beasley were great during the long ride). We did make an hour pit stop on our way too MI to let the dog walk around, so Nadia could play, take bathroom breaks, and to eat a "wholesome" meal at the Golden Arches. (There were a lot of photos we wanted to post but couldn't-if you click on the Perez Photo Album on the sidebar you can view more pictures of the trip-enjoy.)

Sleepover
Nadia stayed with Nana and Papaw this past weekend so Jose and I could finish a few house projects including painting the kitchen ceiling after the hole was fixed (the repair looks great, you would never know that it was there). Although we were quite productive around the house, we did find time to catch a movie (Sweeney Todd), go out for breakfast and finish up some Christmas shopping that we still had with our gift cards. Anyway, it appears that Nadia was hamming it up for Nana and Papaw as usual during her stay. I just love these photos that Papaw emailed titled, "The Many Faces of Nadia." Nadia often makes these funny faces when she's eating to get a good laugh.

Pony Tails

Nadia's hair is still too short for one pony tail but we were able to get two up yesterday. In the second photo Nadia is dancing to her Leap Frog DJ Radio after having her spaghetti dinner (a nighttime ritual). If you look closely you can see the cute tomato sauce beard.

A
Play
Date
with
Bella
Turner

Yesterday, Nadia and I spent some time with our friends Melissa and Bella. Melissa and I worked on the same team at The Hartford and experienced our pregnancies together. Bella was born just 3 days before Nadia. We, including Nana, went to A+ Gymnastics and had a blast watching the two little girls play and run around. A+ even blew up a giant castle with a huge slide so the girls could bounce off some of their energy. Please see our photo album for more pics.

Game Over...
Gary and JoAnn Quinnette: Amy's parents and hosts of the party

It was all smiles and fun as we gathered at the Quinnette's household to watch the Colts play but a very sad day in the end. Yes, the Colts lost but at least we were able to enjoy watching the game with family and friends. (There are additional photos posted in our album.)

Uh-Oh!

A picture says a thousand words...
While helping Papaw install a ceiling fan in Sonia's room, chaos erupted when Jose decided to find the quickest way from the attic into the kitchen. Nana and I were enjoying lunch with Nadia at the kitchen table when we were interrupted by a loud bang. I didn't have to even turn around to know that someone had fallen through the ceiling. When I looked, all I could see was this gaping hole and Jose's leg hanging through it. Unfortunately I didn't get to the camera in time to get that shot. Luckily he was alright other than his bruised ego. Looks like we have another project to add to the list!

Dancing with the Star

We thought you guys might like to see Nadia is full action. She's quite the little dancer, especially in the early morning and evening hours. She received a Leap Frog Fridge DJ for Christmas from Nana and Papaw that she loves to dance to and is very possessive of when it comes to other children. We hope you enjoy, she had some swaying hip action that we were unable to include. What can we say, the girl has moves!

TGIF!
Gymnastics & Playgroup Fun

Introducing Grace...she's in Nadia's playgroup
We had a very eventful Friday morning, which was nice...something to look forward to. Today we visited A+ Gymnastics for the second time followed by more play time at our Moms Club playgroup. Needless to say, Nadia passed out in the car on the way home. After today, I've decided that Nadia must have a small slide this summer. It seems that no matter where we go, she finds the slide and she just can't get enough of it.
(I have posted additional photos in our album if you would like to view them.)

Belly Up
Sorry this photo is so small but it's the only one I have to post. I have been very fortunate to experience both my pregnancies with my very best friends. My first was with Amy, and now Patty and I are expecting our second children (both little girls) just one week apart. So, if we decide on a third...who wants to be pregnant with me?:-)

And the Cat in the Cradle...

We are posting the photo of Nadia in the bathtub to show how long her hair has grown. With all the curls you can't see it when her hair is dry. Maybe we'll dry it straight with a blow dryer to see how it comes out...nah we're just joking.

No Croup for You!

Happy New Year Everyone! We hope you had a safe and fun New Year's Eve. We had a very memorable gathering here at the Perez household last night. Let's just say it involved IU Football losing by 20 in their first Bowl Game in 14 years, Beasley spending over 2 hours in the rain forgotten in the backyard, failed over-the-phone card tricks, and a scary trip for the Prather's to the ER.
The evening wasn't a total bust as we had a lot of laughs (for a lot of reasons but especially the over-the-phone card tricks), good food and got to spend it with great friends and family. Unfortunately the night ended just shy of 2008 with Carson's croup attack. Although no champagne was uncorked, and all of our guests left by 11:45 pm, we wouldn't have wanted it any other way (except for having Carson feel better). Let's do it again next year!
Thanks to the Prathers, Quinnettes and Wards for making the trip to our house. Best wishes in 2008!
