Finish Line
Tatum competed in her 1st 70.3 mile triathlon last Sunday (9/11/11). She did an amazing job! Revolution 3, who put on the event at Cedar Point Amusement Park, encouraged family members to run down the final chute with their loved one. Seeing the girls run down towards the finish line with Tatum was quite the sight!

The Silly Putty Incident
I think that the title says it all... but the video and photographic evidence make it that much better. This happened to us in the middle of a 10 hour drive back home and it detoured us in the middle of nowhere in Pennsylvania on a 90 plus degree day. This incident was both frustrating and hilarious as Tatum and I could not stop laughing, even as the girls were upset. I am positive that we will be talking about this with the girls the rest of their lives...

As you can see, Nadia is in some pain from trying to pull the silly putty out of her ponytail. Sonia though...I don't think that she cared that much. So after trying baby oil, hand sanitizer and water, the only remedy was a pair of scissors. End product:
There is nothing in this photo to reference size, but the wad on the left (Nadia's) was about the size of a golfball. Needless to say, there will be no more Silly Putty in this household for the next few years...

Rookie Run
We headed downtown today for what we hope becomes an annual tradition in this household, the 500 Rookie Run. This year was Sonia's first and she had a blast running up and down the block with Tatum. Nadia also got out to a quick start before slipping on the wet pavement. Ever the fighter, she got right up and finished out the run. She definitely has that same look of determination as her mother...

Team Yellow
Such a fantastic spring weather day yesterday (72 deg). Today, on the other hand, 40...and tomorrow a forecast of snow. Ugh. So we took advantage of the (sometimes) warm spring weather and visited the animals at the zoo.
By the way, Tatum decided to dress the girls in yellow (so I could spot them easier when I inevitably lost one). Thanks Tatum!
